Stones / Quartzite

Quartzite · Brazil
Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is a Brazilian quartzite in soft honey cream tones with delicate banding, prized for combining the ethereal look of marble with the hardness of quartz. It is one of the most requested stones in high end kitchens for exactly that reason, and it makes an equally resilient table.

About quartzite
Quartzite is sandstone that has been fused into an extremely hard crystalline stone. It is harder than marble, resists etching and scratching better than any other natural stone we offer, and often carries luminous depth that reads somewhere between marble and gemstone.
Care and maintenance
Quartzite is the most forgiving natural stone in the library. It still benefits from sealing once a year and prompt attention to spills, but it shrugs off daily use in a way marble does not. If you want natural stone for a busy household, quartzite is the practical choice.
